Instrumental texture analysis is the workhorse of industrial quality control and shelf-life testing, where speed and correlation with sensory panels matter more than fundamental rigor. The Microstructure-Rheology Paradigm has become the default conceptual framework for designing new food textures, especially in the development of plant-based alternatives, reduced-fat products, and structured foods for special medical needs.
