THE NOUSFARER FIELD GUIDE

Copilot & Expeditions

Choose a starter expedition or ask Copilot to chart a route for your learning goal.

Copilot helps you decide where to go in Nousfarer. Meet the owl on the ship’s bridge and open the expedition panel. You can choose a starter expedition or describe a topic or question for a custom route.

Choose a Route

A starter expedition provides a prepared route you can begin without waiting for a new plan. For a custom expedition, tell Copilot what you want to understand and, when relevant, what you already know. Custom planning requires sign-in and can take a moment.

For example, “I want an introduction to classical mechanics, and I know basic algebra” gives Copilot a different task from “How did explanations of motion change through history?”

When more context is needed, Copilot may ask about your preparation and desired depth. Answer for your current understanding. A historical tour, a comparison, and a route for learning a new subject need different stops.

Read the Plan Before Setting Off

Look over the proposed stops and any preparation notes. If the expedition offers branches, choose one before launch. A useful plan should explain why you are visiting each institute and how the stops connect to your goal.

Plans use the available Atlas and may have gaps. If the route misses your intent, refine the question rather than assuming every suggested stop is essential.

Follow the Markers

Start the expedition, go to the helm, and follow the gold diamond. Required stops carry the gold route signal. Optional historical or comparison stops can enrich the journey without blocking its completion.

The route follows you through space and into the learning locations. Existing completion records can help Copilot resume partial work and avoid completed institutes; missing records do not mean you know nothing about a subject.

Save Your Expedition

Use the expedition panel’s save action to keep the plan with your account. The saved path and your quiz completion records serve different purposes: one records the route, the other records the work you have completed.

Copilot draws on Noosaga’s shared Atlas planning and progress services. The institutes and articles on your route are the same knowledge used elsewhere in Nousfarer.
